Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design
Accredited Professional (LEED AP) |
 |
|
UURG is pleased to announce that two of our senior management have
passed the LEED
AP New Construction examination and have been certified as LEED
Accredited Professionals. LEED is an internationally recognized green
building certification system, providing third-party verification
that a building or community was designed and built using strategies
aimed at improving performance across all the metrics that matter
most: energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved
indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity
to their impacts. The LEED AP program is administered by the Green
Building Certification Institute (GBCI), which was established
with the support of USGBC to allow for objective, balanced management
of the credentialing program. A qualified LEED AP has to demonstrate
a thorough understanding of green building techniques, the LEED Green
Building Rating System, and the certification process.
"LEED Accredited Professional" and the
related acronym, and the Legacy LEED AP logo are trademarks owned
by the U.S. Green Building Council and are awarded to individuals
under license by the Green Building Certification Institute. |

Membership of the HK-Beam Society |
 |
|
UURG is pleased to be granted the corporate membership of the HK-Beam
Society. The BEAM Society is the non-profit organization that
owns and operates, on a self-financing basis, the Building Environmental
Assessment Method (BEAM). The society oversees the on-going development
and implementation of BEAM standards for building assessment, performance
improvement, certification and labelling. This is undertaken as an
industry led, voluntary initiative to benefit the community. Society
members work to continually enhance and refine BEAM to meet the expectations
of all interested parties (in particular building users), and to encourage
and assist the local building industry to move towards sustainable
development. The Business
Environment Council (BEC), being the longest running independent,
non-profit organization in Hong Kong promoting corporate social and
environmental responsibility, serves as the Secretariat of the BEAM
Society and BEC's assessors are the only qualified BEAM assessor in
Hong Kong. |
